Project Description

The platform provides real-time insights into room occupancy, staff availability, and service status, allowing management to make informed decisions quickly. With a focus on usability, automation, and data visualization, BahamaLRB ensures smooth daily operations while reducing errors, improving guest satisfaction, and optimizing revenue.

THE STORY

The project began with a need to replace multiple disconnected hotel systems with a single, unified management platform. Stakeholders included hotel managers, front-desk staff, housekeeping supervisors, and accounting personnel. The challenge was to design an interface that could handle complex operational workflows while remaining intuitive and accessible to users of varying technical skills.

The solution focused on streamlining daily operations, reducing manual errors, and providing real-time visibility into hotel operations. Early prototypes were tested with staff using real-world scenarios, such as peak check-in hours and room turnover, to identify pain points and optimize workflow efficiency. Feedback from these sessions guided interface refinements, ensuring that key tasks could be completed quickly and accurately.

MY APPROACH

My approach started with thorough research, including interviews and shadowing hotel staff to understand their day-to-day challenges. I then designed an information architecture that prioritized essential workflows like booking management, room assignments, and housekeeping tasks. Wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes were developed and iterated based on usability testing and stakeholder feedback. Security, privacy, and role-based access were integrated from the beginning to protect sensitive guest and financial data. Collaboration with engineers ensured accurate implementation of design specifications, and post-launch monitoring allowed me to refine dashboards, alerts, and reporting features for maximum operational efficiency.
